The 2007 Traditional Large Craft class built this Haven 12 1/2 for a client under the direction of Master Boatbuilder Jeff Hammond.
The Haven 12 1/2 is the popular designer Joel White’s adaptation of Nathanael G. Herreshoff’s 1914 daysailor.
Student Alicia Dominguez is seen here directing the placement of the waterline while student Jason Bledsoe monitors progress from abeam the boat.
You can read a good summary of White’s work, here, in his obituary. www.nytimes.com/1997/12/10/sports/joel-white-66-designer-...
N.G. Herreshoff is often called "the Wizard of Bristol", and for good reason. Read about him here www.herreshoff.org/achof/nathanael_g_herreshoff.html and here www.herreshoff.org/hmm/index.html
