The 2007 Traditional Large Craft class built this Haven 12 1/2 for a client under the direction of Master Boatbuilder Jeff Hammond.

In this picture, the white oak frames are in place and the boat is ready to be planked.

The Haven 12 1/2 is the popular designer Joel White’s adaptation of Nathanael Herreshoff’s 1914 daysailor.

You can read a good summary of his work, here, in his obituary. www.nytimes.com/1997/12/10/sports/joel-white-66-designer-...

N.G. Herreshoff is often called "the Wizard of Bristol", and for good reason. Read about him here www.herreshoff.org/achof/nathanael_g_herreshoff.html and here www.herreshoff.org/hmm/index.html
