Posted on the 25th of September:
I have spent most the day staring at these photos trying to somehow elimate 12 of them so that I’m left with 15 to use in my photo portfolio assignment for tafe.

I just can’t decide 🙁 all of the people were so lovely and i just want to include them all!

These photos were taken at The Autumn Centre, a place where older people in the community go to socialise, create supportive networks and pursue personal interests. I think its such a wonderful place, and the people there are some of the nicest people ive ever met.

Ive created my portfolio series based around the quote:

"Do not regret growing older. It is a privilege denied to many"
– Unknown Source

With my series I want to challenge the general attitutude that most people have towards growing older and show that you can still enjoy life as a senior citizen.

If you need proof of this just have a look at a list of the Autumn Centres activities:

Aquaerobics
Beading
Belly Dancing
Billiards
Bingo
Bootscooting
Carpet Bowls

Card Playing (Canasta)

UPDATE ON MY RESULTS
24th Nov 2012
I presented my photo portfolio of 15 photos which I had printed onto photographic paper and archivally mounted, and then wrapped up in a baby blanket, padded with styrofoam and stored in an ikea box so that they wouldn’t get ruined on my 40 minute train trip to tafe! I was so nervous but it all paid off in the end, i got 97% for my assignment!!! and my teacher offered to help me exhibit my series next year! I am so happy and so excited 😀 yayayay
