This store is reportedly almost a 100 years old. I just like the lines and the somewhat ornate woodwork. It is called Tate’s Store. Mrs Nanny Tate was the wife of Mr. Tate and she used to be the music teacher at the elementary schools around here. I remember that she would show up to class about once a week with a cart full of hand held musical instruments and song books for us all. We would get to choose between tamborines, drums, flutes and such. She was a sweet lady that was short and was always smiling with lips that were adorned with maybe just a little to much red lipstick. Maybe, her glasses were not quite thick enough. She brought a lot of joy to us and that was important…so important that I remember her giggle even now.
