OK, I had never heard of D. Kimberley & Sons of Birmingham, England. Apparantly the company made a small range of tools in the late 19th and early 20th century, including chisels, plane cutters and hand planes.
This lovely shaped jointer has unfortunately been marked by a previous owner in a rather blatant manner.
The shape of this plane is almost too good, which could be explained by the fact that it won’t cut anything. The mouth is so tight that it will clog immediately.
The cutter must be original as it too is stamped D. Kimberkey & Sons.
