I cut out the hardboard template with a cordless jigsaw. It matched the actual leg plank well. The idea here was to mount this template to the poplar boards (like that one with the sanding block on it), and use a flush-trim router bit (in a router) to trim out the feet, with the hardboard as a template for the trim bit’s bearing.
