I’ve been picking up 2’×2′, and 2’×4′ sheets of different plywoods from Home Depot lately, on the way home from work, so I have a stack of wood supply that’s easy to handle right at my fingertips.

It’s been simply stellar having that to choose through when I get an idea, instead of thinking up an idea, and waiting a day or two until I can get over to the store. It’s such a great size, too. It fits in my hatchback, is easy to carry, and move around, isn’t in the way, and I can manage a whole sheet on my table saw pretty easily, too.

Also, despite being something like 320lbs – the only tool I own heavier than me – the drop-down wheels on the saw make it really easy to reposition the beast. Here I’ve moved it out of the way, along with my portable workbench+router table setup, so I could get some pics of the piano hutch. This also makes it easier to vacuum up the floor, and work on bigger projects.

I kind of want a large workbench in the middle of the room. I’m thinking something like 4’×6′. There’s no room for it, but I’ve been imagining something that I could throw some cables to, and pulley up into the ceiling when not in use 🙂
