Time to get the legs down to the proper length, which is the same as the height of the workbench in this case. For my height and arm length, and the hand planing I frequently do, the right height is about 31" (about 79cm). Takes a while to get through these oak beams with a hand saw, because they have surprisingly close growth rings so are quite dense — must have had to fight for light in the city — but it’s worth it for the accuracy. Not that you can’t be accurate with a circular saw, but if you’re inaccurate…correcting is tough.
