After we lost Bear Kitty, I wanted to build a memory box for her. I bought a piece of 1/2" maple and mahogany, as well as some nice solid brass hardware. I used our dovetail jig and a router to make half-blind dovetail joints for the sides, front, and back. The top and bottom pieces were made from maple in the middle and mahogany on the outsides, joined with biscuits. I had to put the joined pieces through the thickness planer, and everything was sanded smooth and finished with tung oil.
