Building the Art Cart

I am working with builder Geo Monley on new maker courses — and he is also coaching me on my woodworking projects in his state-of-the-art woodshop at Tam High School in Mill Valley.

Geo opened the woodshop for us during spring break, and helped me make a ‘mortise and tenon’ joint for the mobile cart I am building in his ‘You Can Build It’ workshop. We will use this cart to showcase the City of the Future that our middle school students are building together in our ‘maker art’ classes.

Together, we are developing a new program called Tam Makers, to offer a public makerspace and maker courses — and grow a community of makers, students and teachers in South Marin.
