Picture Puzzle 300pc Feeding the Birds1

A lovely puzzle, after a painting by the English Victorian watercolour artist Helen Maguire, showing two young children at the river bank feeding doves.A very different push-fit cut to those I’ve previously highlighted. The puzzle belonged to the same generous seller who has allowed me to upload his images to the group. The puzzles he sells are of such high quality I would dearly love to see the ones he can’t bear to part with.

"Jp371 300pc Picture puzzle Co Size : 14 by 10 inches. Date : 1920s 300 wooden pieces. The puzzle is complete and totally original and in excellent condition. This is a fine example of a “Picture Puzzle” jigsaw – they are rare and very well cut in their own “swirly” cut style. The puzzle is push fit and cut with a fine saw, making the pieces tightly fitting."

Post Script – I believe this is an example of a puzzle marketed by WG Evans, a furniture manufacturer, probably supplied by cutters at Tuck.
This is what Jigasaurus says:

"W.G. Evans & Sons, (Woodwork Manufacturers), Williams Mews, Stanhope Street, London, N.W.1, were a little-known and very limited producer of good quality wooden jigsaw puzzles, although this was probably not their main business.
Examples are very scarce. Whimsies also featured in some of their puzzles, with popular shapes including flags, horse-heads, stars and swords.
I have seen occasional examples of early "Tuck’s Zag-Zaw" puzzles which match this Evans cutting style, probably indicating a link between the two companies. Given the latter company’s prime business of furniture manufacture, it seems likely that it was Raphael Tuck who cut their puzzles, perhaps before Tuck’s changed to their more familiar style of Zag-Zaw puzzles. The Zag-Zaw The Britannia helps to demonstrate these similarities."
