Detail from a Roman funerary relief found in the environs of Frascati, Italy. Now in the British Museum. The tools depicted are connected with woodworking: In the center a bow and the drill bit. A knife or heavy socketed chisel for cutting mortises, and, at the bottom, an adze-hammer and a paring chisel, tanged, without the handle.

Dated by the museum to the late first century BCE.
