The Lorain County Historical Society is housed in The Hickories Museum, an 1895 mansion combining Richardsonian Romanesque and Shingle-style architecture. The interior features Tiffany-style windows, six fireplaces, carved faces and a private chapel. French and Gothic styles are apparent in the oak, mahogany and cherry woodwork. The museum interprets the lifestyle of a wealthy Lorain County family in the early 1900s.

Daily, visitors can enjoy guided tours of The Hickories Museum Tuesday through Friday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. or by appointment (last tour starts 45 minutes before close). Admission: Adults $5; Children (ages 13-18) $3; Children (ages 6-12) $2; Children under six and LCHS Members FREE.
