Recycling Sven’s old steps required some compromises – I had to use some borderline boards, and one of the arms had a split in it that was getting worse. So I took the chair apart (I had to saw it apart b/c I’d glued it all) and glued in this strip of maple. It looks pretty cool! Then two new coats of Cetol for the chairs, after a bit of sanding, and they’re good for another five years or so. I also purchased a canvas drop cloth for the occasion, which I expect will become a project companion for decades to come.
