A friend has a long thin garden behind his terraced home. The garden is 16 feet by 50 feet. He wants an area for an 8 feet by 6 feet shed and he would prefer this to be screened from view.
I’ve come up with this basic design and given him lots of options for how the design can be modified to either give a grass less garden / make it feel more/less informal and ways to reduce the cost of achieving it .There used to be lots of notes on this photo but Flickr management have now removed the notes facility completely. I had hundreds of photos with thousands of notes.. they took many hours to produce and the fools at Flickr have removed them all…
I’ve now produced the same photo with numbers and notes below it showing all the features /options available for this garden plan . Here it is

Many of the terraces in my area have gardens twice as long as this one. For those with children who like to play football etc half the garden could be attractive and well planted and the other half basically plain grass where the children can play.
Here’s a link to photos of a long thin garden I designed and created some years ago . The photos show before and after shots.
