So I finally got a whole weekend off! Decided to go play at the Sibley Nature Center here in Midland. I had planned on sitting down by the pond and getting some bird shots, as well as damselfly/dragonfly shots.
Alas, they are in the middle of upgrading the park. The pond was drained, and this big, fat yellow caterpillar was pushing dirt around. =(
So I meandered around, checking out the bugs.
Directly behind me was the guy with the caterpillar bulldozer, pushing dirt around. He was completely oblivious to the life and death war going on over here in the flowers as this ladybug (along with a good half-dozen more) scrambled around the sunflowers in heir hunt for food. They were eating the aphids faster than I could get pictures of them.
This one was moving so fast, I got the one shot of her, then a half-blurry shot of her butt as she went back over the top edge of the leaf.
