So much for vacation. I’ve spent most of today at work, which kinda sucks on a nice Bank Holiday. This evening I plan on going to one of our local pubs to watch the Man United vs. Chelsea match so I confess that I haven’t spent a heck of a lot of time on this shot. When we bought our house it came with a rather nice shed on the back of the garage in which a number of items have been found, including this old radio (no idea if it works – the electrician we got in to check the place over immediately disconnected the garage and shed as being death traps). His Royal Highness can often be found sleeping on the shelf with this radio since it’s nice and warm. This was shot hand-held with a polarising filter to try and eliminate the reflections being generated on the clear plastic screen over the radio bands. Following this I’ve done some touch-up and then had a bit of a play in Color Efex to produce an aged look, which seemed appropriate.
I’m shooting a lot at f/8 at the moment. I’ll have to find a subject where something else is a bit more appropriate for a change but at this close range f/8 still results in a relatively narrow depth of field, which was set on volume control.
