Please read this to see how I do things,
All these are made in my wood shop for the gingerbread house, no fancy molds or tools
just common sense, always combine my woodworking skills in my Gingerbread houses,
The blocks of Oak are made for the country style china cabinet, the chairs are made from Ipe deck wood just because it was in front of me in the wood bin and it was the right size,
the couch is pine as it is easy to carve and shape, the convex wood behind the couch is shaped like that for the girls trunk in the Attic, the concave piece is the fireplace mold,
The first time after so many years I made a mold to create the brick walls in precise reparative lines, the long piece creates the channel and bricks by pressing on the gum paste, the little stick makes the separation of the bricks, little cornstarch for grout does the magic, all the molds get a coat of cornstarch for easy release, the toothpicks by far are the most used item in this process, from mixing the colors to adding color in the Gum paste and also used while sculpting small intricate details on pieces,
