The 140 year-old Daigle House was destroyed by fire on February 2, 2014.

From the 2nd floor, the floor has collapsed onto the room below. The roof has holes, thus, allowing exposure to the elements. Mould and rot are present and the floor is begining to give way. Decay is well advanced.

The ‘Daigle House’, is an abandoned house between Iron Bridge and Blind River, Ontario on Highway 17. It is approximately 5 kilometres east of Iron Bridge on the Mississagi River. The timber framed house was built by Alexander Daigle, from France, in the 1870’s. Daigle was one of the first settlers in the Iron Bridge area. The house, as seen, is in a state of advanced decay and has been heavily vandalized through out the years.
