For the fun of it I took some of the wood from the pallet that the lathe was delivered on and milled it to 1.25" x 3.25", glued it up into a board and cut rings from it for this bowl. So, I have a douglas fir bowl that’s 15.75" diameter by 6" tall. To keep the rustic look in part I didn’t fill the nail holes nor patch the cracks around the knots. This is the largest diameter turning I’ve ever done. The lathe was awesome to work with, BTW.
