This classic Eames design was produced for a competition for the museum of modern art in New York in 1948. With influence from Salvadore Dali’s Ruins in the rain (1934) The fibreglass body almost ‘floats’ above the wooden base via five iron legs and is a wonder of organic design. The result is a very light and yet highly stylised structure. The chaise only went into production for the general public in 1990 and remains a highly desirable designer item.

Chair is made from re-enforced fibreglass and sits via the polished stainless steel legs on a walnut base.

This represents a fantastic opportunity of owning what could be described as furniture’s most unusual design ever.
