Jerry Harris of the Pacific Northwest Woodturning Guild was very gracious in allowing me to spend an afternoon with him at his studio while he helped me create a base for my lamp prototype.
I marveled at the numerous projects and blocks of wood lining the studio shelves, most of which, he told me, had been harvested after the tree had lived out its life and fallen without the help of human hands.
