This is a chess piece I hand-turned and carved on the lathe machine. I picked walnut because I really loved the grain on the piece of wood I chose. I almost lost a body part while turning this on the lathe machine. I forgot to sand off the wax on the wood, when I epoxied the wood to the base and the chunk of walnut literally flew across the room while I was turning it. Fortunately, my grip on the tool was really firm so it didn’t fling back at me or anyone else for that matter. Phew!
Anyways, I think it’s uber sexy!
