Lathe attempt

Another lathe attempt. This was a small Bradford Pear log that has dried for one year. It has little knots. I was trying for a simple shape. This is my third turning attempt, and the first that didn’t have to be removed prematurely or come flying off. Its spin is a bit primitive, but not bad. I used a couple of coats of Danish oil on it, but the wood retained its pale color.

Length: 11-1/4"
