A planned day off the railways today, until I became aware of 37800 dragging two class 315 units into CF Booth this evening. Good timing work wise and also allowed for the capture of the Aldwarke to Stocksbridge steel at its origin.

The plan, catch the Adlwarke at origin, nip up to Kilnhurst and still have time to catch the turned units entering CF Booth. In reality 37800 was running 30 minutes eary so had to be caught first.

Then to Aldwarke to catch the shed ready to leave, if it hadn’t done so early. Well what a surprise – 60020 parked up at the ehad of the train. It must be the winter when the leaf fall plays havoc with the rails and a 66 can’t get up the branch, or it arrives in the dark so we wind up the local photographers by sending a 60 up.

The rules – as advised by the guy in the gatehouse. Previously I had grabbed a shot through the fence to the left. The gates were locked so not an option. No photography is permitted from Liberty Steels land, but with the loco parked where it was, there’s nothing wrong with taking a shot from the public highway.
