One second, one shot – then he was gone, never to be seen again
What an amazing location – 5 different odonata at one place:
Banded Demoiselle
Blue emperor
Broad-bodied Chaser
Four-spotted chaser
Scarce Chaser
…and lots of them (except Anax imperator, saw only this one).
There’s only one explanation for this: the location is right near the Rhine where we have a big mosquito problem, so they spray against those from a plane – but not every year. I guess they didn’t do it last year, so the odonata are back! I’ll take the mosquitos every day…
