Yet another tale of woe.
Three day long weekend off for me; Saturday, Sunday & Monday.
Weather was dire for the whole three days, no real surprise. This was made even more galling by having been at work on the previous three days in wall to wall sunshine.
By Monday I was going stir-crazy so went out anyway
Plan was to do the logs and the Carlisle – Crewe engineers’ at Appleby and then pick a few bones out of the scant amount of other stuff going on around and about.
Then it all went wrong.
This was the first target, the aforementioned 6K05 trunk service.
Over recent times this working has thrown up 37s, 57s and even 68s but no such luck for me, staple diet 66 being the order of the day on this occasion.
66424 passes Appleby ‘box on approach to the station.
