Not what I had planned for today…. I should of been enjoying some 1961 built Alsthom narrow gauge traction in Portugal, but due to the airline overbooking the flight, I was offered compensation not to travel. Compensation was more than adequate meant I was at home for the weekend instead….
What to do now I have Saturday free…. I know there is the Nottingham-Skegness loco hauled vice HST.
Here, 66763 ‘Severn Valley Railway’ ambles through the usually deserted Elton and Orston station with 1S03 09.43 Nottingham to Skegness service on a sunny morning of Saturday 26th August 2017. 66707 ‘Sir Sam Fay’ is on the rear to work forward from Grantham.
This was the first loco-hauled service train to Skegness for 9 years! Pity they couldn’t of used traction from 30 years ago…
