My First year at College
I started exercising regularly after my first year at college. I was working out almost everyday and doing cardio, weight training, yoga, for physical Fitness. I had been playing basketball since I was 12 years old and knew how to play defense well. But I never really paid attention to what I ate until I got to college. I would eat whatever I wanted and not pay much attention to calories.
After my freshman year, I started getting sick a lot. I had headaches, nausea, stomach aches, and just felt terrible. I went to the doctor and he told me I had acid reflux disease (GERD). He prescribed me some medication and said if it didn’t work, I should go back to him. Well, it worked! I stopped feeling bad and haven’t had any problems since then.

I started eating healthier after I realized how unhealthy I was. I started reading books about nutrition and learned about the importance of protein, carbs, fats, fiber, vitamins, etc. I started paying attention to what I ate and tried to make sure I was getting enough protein, carbs, and fat.
