In September 2014 The Tasmanian wood Collection is presenting an exhibition, "Rethinking Jimmy Possum".
This stool looks at various elements, materials at hand , recycled materials salvaged from a demolition of part of our house, and some sample paints from our current repaint.
The process involved simple robust joinery, ,the pickleing of the Eucalypt seat components using the paint samples and the scorching of the legs using a gas torch before oiling them.
The design incorperates memories of striped coloured canvas deck chairs of the mid C 20th. as well as the need for simple robust domestic furniture.
