Not much to it: a bolt, a spool of 30 gauge wire, a DC power supply, and a paper clip to demonstrate that its working.
Not shown: some heat shrink tubing to hold the finished coil together, and some more sturdy wire to connect to the supply.
Tools: a variable-speed drill, wire cutters and strippers, soldering iron, and hot-air gun.
