Holding a Low Blood Sugar Reading (severe hypoglycemia)

Look at that blood sugar of 30! The doctor was surprised Dezy
didn’t lose consciousness, have seizures, or go into a comma which can be fatal.

After Dezy got this reading, I panicked and forced him to eat a lot of sugary candy such as gummy bears and chocolate bars. I didn’t have sugary liquids on hand so I was starting to get nervous and gave him a HIGH carb meal of 45 grams which brought up his BG’s to 114. He has been running low since we returned form CO and it could be due to altitude change, but not really sure. For a while there I was hopeful he was cured of diabetes, but I know firsthand diabetes is such a complicated disease which doesn’t just go away on it’s own. This is why we’re going to Washington, DC next week for Children’s Congress in hope to get more funding for more research to find a cure.
