20211004-191939 Copyright © VW Selburn 2021: I’m indulging myself with a Keto diet, not so much as to lose weight, than to ‘reset’ my health. According to a Dr Berg on YouTube, I can improve my brain’s cognitive ability, reduce insulin (though the opposite can be true with anyone with high insulin levels) and increase my energy levels, as well as improve circulation, and reduce belly fat (that could be good!). Another benefit is that there may be weight loss, certainly if it is combined with exercise. It is essentially a low carb diet, but the good thing is that I can eat fats, which are healthy for us, in the form of butter and coconut oil. The important thing is to eat good quality food – no processed foods at all. Another aspect of this diet, is that I fast for 18 hours each day, with a 6 hour window in which I eat sensibly and not eat sugar of any type that is not in the food naturally. Note the whole garlic cloves in this pan – I love to eat garlic whole (or sweet pickled with various herbs or spices). I’ve only been doing this for around a week, and in truth, I am feeling very much more alert. Or maybe I am just A Lert! LoL!
One pan Recipe:
Part of a stir fry veggie pack, prawns, sliced mushrooms, lentil noodles, cherry tomatoes. 5 whole garlic cloves (3 large, 2 small).
Herb mixture:
Turmeric, ginger, parsley, coriander, cumin, ground pepper and minimal salt.
Hot spice: Sweet Chilli sauce to taste.
